Late sunday night there was an incredible full moon. I think I have never seen such a full moon before – so bright and clear.

Everything in life – and nature – goes in circles. Sycluses. When summer is over, autumn knocks on the door. So it is with the moon as well. It is the brightest object in the sky after the sun, although its surface is actually very dark, witch can reflect to coal. Its prominence in the sky and its regular cycle of phases have since ancient times made the moon an important cultural influence on language, calendars, art and mythology.

It`s very rare that the moon is so bright that it creates a moon dog. Even more rare is it that the moon dog has colours. Usually the light of the moon dog is seen as a white spot. It is caused by the light from the moon reflectes in the ice crystals in the “feather clouds” 6 – 8 km up in the atmosphere – creating what we on earth see as a second moon.

This night I am talking about, we had a moon dog – with colours.

I never stop to be amazed by nature and the universe – how magnificent it is. How everything is connected and how interesting it is to dig deep – learning and understanding.
