The wind dances around my feet
lifting veils of white crystals
My warm breath makes frosty clouds
falling to the ground light as snow

The stars are spred by the wind
filling the nightsky`s dark sea
They shed their silver tears
over the land with dim shadows

The cry of a lonely owl
echoes in the forest depths
And the wolf`s glowing eyes
fades among the dark trees

A distant sound of a horn is heard
along with rumbeling hoofs
The ancestor`s mighty army
is riding majestic over the sky

My voice breaks the dark night
and the silence of the winter
I call the name of the Elders
Hear me – and listen to my call

*As a kid I used to do this often when the night sky exploded in green, slow dancing waves. I was convinced it was a portal to the gods(I have no idea why I believed so, but I did)and I used to stretch my arms up and call for them to take me up with them. Apparently it never happened, I am still here – even how hard I wished for it and also how loud I yelled. And I still have my imagination 🙂
And yes, I know it is a bit absurd to post stuff about winter and northern lights in the mids of summer but hey, who cares? 🙂

Northern Lights, Tromso, Norway

What if I told you
about a legend of a long forgotten magic power
That lived far beyond from mortal poems
In a cold and frozen land far up north

At dark nights when the stars are painting
the frame for the nightly orchestration
Whispering the arrival of an endless blue
and green dancing wave with magic crowns

Stronger than a dream and higher
than an angel could ever fly
The frosty bridge between ancient gods
and human kind are being opened

And old power, magic and wisdom will float through
the veins of the ones that stands upon the mountain
lifting their arms up to the frosty flames
Singing a tune that brings the wolves to silence

What if I told you …
That the legend is true
All you have to do is to believe
and embrace the power of the Northern Lights
The frosty bridge does show in a time
when days are dark and velvet blue
In the cold land far north

… Where the nights still dance

In Norse mythology:
“The Valkyrior are warlike virgins, mounted upon horses and armed with helmets and spears.
When they ride forth on their errand, their amour sheds a strange flickering light, which flashes up over the northern skies…”

On my knees surrounded
by shining drops of tears
slowly turning to ice
sparkling in the moonlight
Stay with me as the tale comes true
as my heart are being dressed
in white and grey

The echoes of the winter
becomes louder and louder
carrying a tiara
and under the northern lights
a princess of sorrow
will become a real Queen

Please come – dance with me
before I fall asleep
and teach me one more word of
your perfect tongue
as you are the only one
I want to talk to
I wish to talk to
I would like to talk to
– You …

I have come to know what beauty is
appearing in the sunrise of my dreams
And like a warm summer breeze
that silences the winters screams
I remember what it feels
again to live and breathe

I dont think I am the only one
who dreams when looking at
the moon and northern lights
The choice is yours, will you join me?
We could, if you dare, reach the heights …

Without speach and without voice
stars illuminate within and beyond
as the northern lights flames up
and dance over the velvet night sky

And like the petals on a flower;
like an eagle spread wings and fly
diving down to calm and deep waters
All the beauty and all the potentials;
it opens up – just like in you
